Blowing Rock Winterfest 2023

The 25th Annual Blowing Rock WinterFest will take place January 26-January 29, 2023.

Don't hibernate - CELEBRATE winter! This winter festival features several days of fun events, from ice sculpture carving to the Polar Plunge at Chetola Lake and much more! We've highlighted a few of our favorite WinterFest events and activities below.

Thursday, January 26th

• Local's Night at Hellbender Bed & Beverage (12pm-8pm)
• WinterHawk Tournament Tomahawk Throwing Competition (ongoing; starting at 4pm, Tomahawk Hill at Mystery Hill)
• WinterFeast at the Green Park Inn (Two seatings: 5:30pm and 7pm): The highly anticipated WinterFeast gives guests the opportunity to try all kinds of delicious food from local restaurants!

Friday, January 27th

• Winterfest Ice Stroll: 4-7pm, Downtown Blowing Rock. Stroll through Blowing Rock and admire all the gorgeous ice sculptures! A dozen sculptures will be on display in front of local businesses.
• Winter Wines from Warm Climates: Sunset and Vine, 4pm. This seminar will feature wines from warm climates. Enjoy the flavors and the discussion on the flavor profiles!

Saturday, January 28th

• Polar Bear Plunge at Chetola Resort: The Polar Bear Plunge is one of the highlights of WinterFest you don't want to miss! Participants will plunge into Chetola Lake starting at 10am. (Get there early for good viewing!)
• Rotary Chilly Chili Challenge (11am - 2pm): This year the Rotary Chilly Chili Challenge is taking place at Meadowbrook Inn in the Four Seasons Ball Room! Participating restaurants will be serving their special chili and donating a portion of the proceeds to local nonprofits! Tickets are $8.00 per person. • Ice Carving Demonstrations: Blowing Rock Memorial Park, 12pm-4pm.
• Winterfest Beer Garden: 1-3pm at The Speckled Trout. This year’s event will feature fantastic local breweries from all around. For WinterFest Beer Garden tickets, click here.
• Whites and Sparkles at Sunset & Vine at 2pm; Fireside Favorites at 4pm.

Sunday, January 29th

• WinterFest Pancake Breakfast: 8-10am at Blowing Rock school cafeteria. Click here for tickets.
