Our Mountain Area is famed for its outdoor activities all year long, even during the winter months! Here are some of our favorite ski resorts and our favorite places for other fun winter activities, like snow tubing and sledding.

App Ski Mountain features 12 slopes including 3 Terrain Parks. Open 7 days a week starting the Friday before Thanksgiving, App Ski Mountain is the perfect destination for family fun. Ski Beech is the highest ski area in the east at 5,506' peak elevation! Offering 15 slopes and seven chair lifts and a great variety of terrain for skiing and snowboarding. There's also a 7,000 square foot refrigerated outdoor ice skating rink on site, along with shopping, dining and Ski School!

Retro '80s Weekend: February 18 - February 21, 2021
Each February, Beech Mountain Resort celebrates all things '80s! The eighth annual Retro Weekend will feature live music nightly, retro skiing daily and plenty of throwback activities in between!

Sugar Mountain Resort is North Carolina's largest ski and snowboard area with 20 slopes from beginner to expert! Also featuring a terrain park, 8 lifts, a tubing park and 100% snowmaking on 115 acres! There's ski and snowboard schools for all ages and abilities, rental shops, and two cafeterias. Hawksnest, conveniently located in Seven Devils, NC, is the largest snow tubing park in the southeast with 30 tubing lanes! The park also has conveyors to get you back to the top of the mountain.
