NC High Country Market Update (June 2022)

July 18, 2022

While we are still in a sellers market, there has been an easing of demand due to higher interest rates. June is exhibiting the typical annua trend of increasing inventory and sales heading into the summer months.

June 2022 High Country market update infographic with six real estate metrics compared to May.

For the first time in two years, we are seeing price reductions on listings. While overall pricing may not decline, the overpricing of listings and multiple offer situations will ease. Additionally, homes will be on the market a little longer, giving buyers a chance to view homes before they are gone.

Sellers can still expect good profit, and need to price very carefully. There will now be a little more competition, and buyers are going to be selective. That means preparing the home well and having a strong competitive listing.
